As (you should all remember) a Miami Heat there is nothing I want more than for Howard to replace Lebron as the most hated player in the league.

Especially since the guy is a genuine douche and Lebron never pulled this ridiculous horse shit back in Cleveland.

You need to replace Gil Arenas picture with that last picture at the top of your mount rushmore A.S.A.P.

That Pepsi photo. That is all.

Well not just that. BAWFUL DOIN' WORK, BABY.

Naz: Funny how Pumaman's actions are supposed to come from trying to avoid the same fallout as The Decision, eh?

Though one could argue LeBron handled Mike Brown (albeit a lesser coaching mind) in similar fashion.

I hope everyone saw Carmello Anthony fall down on a ball fake by Jason Richardson in last nights Magic-Knicks game, it was bawful and hilarious.

"Worst product placement EVER!"

Maybe Coke paid for the product placement?

Matt McHale walks in, strikes a vogue, walks out....

Sweet.

Oh, and Naz, with all due respect, this still isn't LeBron-level douchery. After all, Howard has yet to stage a coronation in his new city. Nor can one really say that Howard ripped the heart out of his city like LeBron did. His home town, no less.

So, you see, LeBron is still the King James of soul-crushing his fans. Howard has a long way to go.

In fact, I'd say Deron Williams ranks above Howard. Forcing the immortal Jerry Sloan out of the game? This is a guy who couldn't be forced out of coaching by the death of his wife and soulmate. THAT is dickery.

That's all fanbase dickery. There are lots of other categories. I'd argue that KG is at or near the top in the in-game dickery category.

Gee AK Dave it seems like somebody is from Cleveland :)

@Naz: But I'm not. Never lived anywhere near Cleveland. In fact, I've never been a hard core fan of any single team, since I grew up about 45 minutes from a city (STL) without an NBA team (I did go to a couple of Spirit games in the 70s). Another place I lived (Seattle) had its team stolen after I'd left. I choose teams on a group of players I like.

So if there's a non fanboy or homer amongst the regulars here, it's me. LeBron's decision and his behavior in surrounding couple of years makes him the king of fanbase douchery. That's my objective assessment. Howard has a long way to go.

Oh, and there have been a lot of Pacers jokes since the "best kept secret" comment. But they now have the third best record in the East, and we have to give them respect. I don't expect them to go far in the playoffs, but 3rd best record is an exceptional achievement for a team without a real star and just a bunch of role players. I love teams like that, and I wish the absolute best for them, including going into the second round. Can't imagine them beating the Heat or Bullies to get to the ECF, but how cool is it that they are playing so well? I'm particularly pleased since this is the franchise that was nearly destroyed by Ron Artest and friends. Go Pacers!

Hilarious.

Oh, and Wormboy, who do you see making the finals this year?

Wormboy, I agree with the Lebron-Howard comparison. I don't know the details surrounding the Williams case though...

And I hate KG. He's a good player, but a complete idiot and very disrespectful.

Regarding yesterday's Knick game, SVG said, "I thought Dwight played really, really hard." ROFL!! No points in first 35 minutes, finishing with 8 points (0-3 FTs), 8 rebounds, 5 turnovers, 5 fouls. Yeah, playing real hard.

NBA playoffs advertising fail: showing a clip of Jeremy Lin during the montage of league stars. Ahem, the guy is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, and his team may miss the playoffs entirely.

Finals? I'd guess the Heat ad the Zombies, with Heat winning.

Anonymous Naz said...
By Zombies do you mean Spurs Wormboy? Because I was thinking the same thing.

What I'd really like to see is a Spurs Heat matchup where Bosh suddenly becomes the Boshtrich and abuses Tim Duncan so badly with a few 40-20 games that Duncan retires afterward.

That was low. Saying that "you must be from Cleveland" is almost like making a "yo momma" joke.

Vintage game at SA last night...

- Duncan face after a call: check
- Poppovich getting a technical: check
- Some /*sniff sniff*/ home cooking: check
- Los 3 amigos burning the Jazz: check, check and check

Only thing missing was someone (dunno, some old guy who has a tractor driving license) barking from the Jazz's bench due to all those bogus calls...

... LeBron was and is not from Cleveland.

It's quite well documented how people from Akron do not identify themselves as being from Cleveland.

On a separate level, while LeBron was a douche, he was a douche after his contract expired. D12 has been worst = trade request, wait don't, wait only to here, undermining his coach, etc.

Anonymous Naz said...
Yes Sol, Lebron isn't from Cleveland. I'm not sure why you bring that up since I don't think anyone mentioned that. If I did, whoops.

Anyway, yeah that's why I think Dwight is a bigger douche than Lebron. Lebron had that whole Decision thing and all that, but Lebron still played out his whole contract without all this trade drama, always gave it his all while playing for Cleveland, winning 2 MVPs in his last 2 seasons with Cleveland and dragged an absolutely god awful Cleveland team to having the best record in the league and playoff success they'd never seen before during his time with Cleveland.

Dwight can't exactly say any of that, it doesn't matter that Lebron did The Decision because Dwight has been doing this crap while still on the Magic, Lebron was a free agent when he was being a dick.

@Naz: No, no ,no. The Zombies are the Zombie Sonics, the only undead franchise in basketball. From the city that shall not be named. The were ripped from the bosom of Seattle by a corrupt and fraudulent team president. By laws and contracts matter little when profits are at stake!

So, you see, I cannot possibly cheer for the Zombie Sonics, even if Durant is a most likeable player.

I see the Zombies and the Heat, with the Zombies losing. Yeah, the Spurs are doing well, but can they go to another Finals without their vaunted defense and Timmy being limited to an unusually savvy role player? I doubt it. As for the East, the Bulls are a one trick pony (Rose). Their offense is too stilted to win a title.

Usual injuries caveat, of course.
