Merry Birdmas, everyone! This year we have a real treat for you - an exclusive tour of LarryLand, a vast theme park located on the outskirts of French Lick, Indiana, devoted to Larry Legend. We visit the top attractions of this amazing park, like Bill Russell Title Town, DJ's Science Circle, and the Larry Coaster. We even get an inside look at some of the quirky, but devoted fans who visit LarryLand. Prepare for a Larrylicious amount of fun. - ET
Editor's note: For those of you missing the usual bawful, Worst of the Night will return tomorrow.
This is the greatest thing in the history of mankind. Children's textbooks will need to be rewritten to acknowledge this as a turning point in human cultural development.
My God. The degree of awe I'm experiencing is unparalleled since I first saw the "double rainbow" youtube video. You guys are geniuses. Crazy, but geniuses.
The double Laimbeer jersey means that I ordered the Jersey, realized after ordering that it was coming from China, would take three weeks and might not make it in time for the trip, then decided to have a backup in the form of a more-quickly-delivered T-shirt. On the hope that the jersey would arrive in time (which of course, it did), the glorious double jersey idea was born.
And the world will never be the same.
I asked to paint the coaster green, but was told no. Then I said "How about just the front car?" Still no. Some people don't appreciate the details required for a top-notch Hollywood production.
- "and your typical ESPN Zone restaurant.." - the shots from Rom-uhhh, LarryLand. - ET's dancing in the "Michael Cooper gyroscope". That was awesome. Awesomely nightmare worthy. - "Who's the best basketball player?" "Michael Jordan!" (brakes screeching)
no connected to birdmas (sorry) but carmelo anthony, had this to say about george karl having the hance to get his 1000th victory (holy shit):
Said Carmelo Anthony: "You've got to win a lot of games to get to 1,000. And you've got to know a lot of basketball to get that chance to get to 1,000."
At first I didn't know what to expect, but after minute 2, I just had a big, dumb smile until the end of the video. I just wonder what kind of looks you got during that awesome dancing in the tornado.
ET - In spite of some inaccuracies in the video (namely that the Lakers only have 11 championships, you're on notice for that one), that video was awesome. Inquiring minds want to know though, what happened to the Michael Cooper and Bill Laimbeer gear?
Speaking of Laimbeer, does anyone else think it's really weird that he's one of Kurt Rambis's assistant coaches in Minnesota? 20 years ago, who could have seen that coming?
@ Yams "Speaking of Laimbeer, does anyone else think it's really weird that he's one of Kurt Rambis's assistant coaches in Minnesota? 20 years ago, who could have seen that coming?"
Utterly bizarre, but Laimbeer actually did a great job of coaching in the WNBA, it was only a matter of time before some organization looked around at the bad NBA coaching and said "uh, yeah. let's go with somebody who has demonstrated some talent."
Of course, none of this makes any sense in the context of Laimbeer being as assistant in Minny, where such an insightful management notion would be least likely to occur. And the Rambis thing. Yeah.
I hate to nitpick such a 99.999% perfect homage to His Birdness, but the Michael Cooper impersonation was incomplete without the socks pulled up to the ankles.
All that was missing was this scene.
DON'T TOUCH!!
Dan B. - I loved your comment almost as much as Larry.
AK Dave - When my kids are old enough for the language, we'll film that scene. For sure.
Very well done....even if I'd like to nuke Larryland
"Double Laimbeer jersey, what does it mean???"
awesome stuff, It actually took my about 3-4 mins to figure out that this park was made up!

Memo to Larryland: at 10:44 on the roller coaster, you can see a New York billboard. Somebody tear it down.
Said Carmelo Anthony: "You've got to win a lot of games to get to 1,000. And you've got to know a lot of basketball to get that chance to get to 1,000."
you've gotta win a lot to win a lot. no kidding.
