As a courtesy to all you loyal Bawful readers, I'll be posting links to Matt McHale: Technical Writer's contributions to THE WORLDWIDE LEADER:

First Cup: Thursday

First Cup: Thursday (take two)

A case of seriousinjuryphobia (examining the Garnett situation)

Damn you for being gainfully employed, Bawful. Now I have to go over to the ESPN comments section and make fun of the idiots over there for a day. Job already underway on your Garnett post. (My username over there is djbelc01 for anyone who has no life and wishes to read my comments there too)

The Other Chris:

Luckily, according to Sactown Royalty, Tyreke's shot was aided by nonexistent defense from Z-Bo. YES.

Ball Don't Lie claims this is the longest-distanced game winner in Association history.

In other words, if The Freak retires now and leaves behind a legacy of playing on a franchise that may or may not be in Sacramento in two years, at least he'll have this to hang his hat on.

New post on TrueHoop from Matt McHale: Technical Writer -

The Suns are even worse on defense than you think

Anonymous Aaron said...
is it STILL wrong to say the Suns should have kept Amare (and Lou) and/or they should blow it up just so Steve Nash can be in the playoff again?

Blogger Dan B. said...
Amar'''''e is a terrible defender. Always has been, always will be. It's just not something he cares about. And I of course have no way to prove this, but I assume he wouldn't be playing this hard if he was still in Phoenix. He feels like he needs to impose his will and assert his alpha dog status to take over the Knicks and win over the fans, while he could just sorta coast and do whatever in Phoenix. The entire team is fundamentally flawed and needs to be blown up, and I fear it's too late for them to give Nash a realistic shot at a ring. They might be able to get him to the playoffs, but they won't have time to build a championship team. It of course also doesn't help that Nash is a pretty terrible defender himself, as much as I love the guy's game.

All I am saying is that last year's team was better than this year's.

I haven't been following the Suns, are they really that bad? That quote from Gortat was pretty harsh.

Yams,

The Suns are #6 all-time in defensive inefficiency (ie, allowing the 6th most points per 100 possessions EVER.) Their defense is absolutely terrible. They deserve every insult Gortat pulled out.

Of the top 50 teams on that list, only one team had a winning record. That was the 1981 Denver Nuggets, whose bawful defense (7th worst efficiency of all-time) was offset by their bawesome offense (14th best efficiency of all-time).

Matt McHale: Technical Writer's latest TrueHoop post is now up, and shockingly, the title is NOT a reference to a bawful squad in DC:

It's just a one-time thing, I promise.

BTW, letting go of Lou was a horrible move IMHO, and has always been horrible since the Suns didn't actually fill his roster spot properly.

Also, Bawful, linking stuff to RealGM is usually bawful. I just can't take that site seriously, especially the forum

I think it's funny that today's non-post has more comments than yesterday's actual post.

@Anaconda - you mean replacing Lou with a 4th string small forward was a bad choice?
