God you are not kidding, Larry Bird is hideous, I don't know why it never hit me until now. Especially after reading through all 800 posts about the Lakers/Celtics rivalry you put up last spring. Although that was very educational. God really doesn't give with both hands, does he?

Lord Mamba Says, "HAHA Larry Bird is so ugly, I bet he never got to cheat on his wife and then be forced to buy her a multi-million dollar ri---wait a second...."

I thought he would've used his left hand to make that long range towel shot....

It was bound to happen, someone put together a video chronicling all of Kevin Garnett's superdickery throughout his career (via Fanhouse). What really struck me about this was the same thing that struck me about KG in the article I linked to the other day: his antics seem to be coming more and more frequently. He got down on all fours and barked at Jerryd Bayless in the same game he made Big Baby Davis cry in, and that was less than a month ago; then in the loss to the Warriors last week he laid out Bellinelli, and then he cheap-shotted LaMarcus Aldridge twice in the most recent Celtics game. That's an awful lot of petulance for a guy widely regarded as one of the all-time greats who now finally has a ring.

Damn, Yams, I'm not sure I can take much more. I already hate the celtics more than I should (though it's a respectful kind of hate, like "God I hate those guys, but they are damn good at defense" I think the C's are the new spurs) But now I feel perfectly justified in feeling however I want to about garnett. Those are some good, hard screens though, even though it's obvious the guy falling isn't flopping but actually being knocked down.

Luke Walton finds Lord Mamba sulking in the locker room. "What's wrong Kobe?" The son of Walton asks. "It's that damn Garnett again," answers the sith lord. "What're you talking about, man, we BEAT those guys just a couple of days ago?!" Kobe responds, "No, you fool, it's not that, people think Garnett is more evil than me now, and I can't take it!!!!" The dark lord promptly bursts into tears. Luke tries to console the Mamba, "Aw c'mon, Kobe, you could always cheat on your wife or say something dumb about Shaq......" Kobe pulls himself together. "You know, Luke, that actually helps a lot, thanks." Luke, looks puzzled, "Really?"
"No," replies the Mamba, "And you are still a douchebag."
Kobe looks at the stricken expression on Walton's face for a moment, "Damn, even that doesn't make me feel better."

If only I'd known about that catalog when I was single! I mean, I'm sure the women wouldn't have been able to resist someone with a strong resemblance to Larry Bird. Or I could have bought a Jeff Ruland jersey and made myself really irresistible.

nomination for WOTN - the sixers commentators. They showed a theo ratliff non-call foul and a missed layup by willie green as their "minimum coverage play of the game" and followed that up with the "good call of the game"- Jason terry nailing three 3-pointers. On the Sixers network!

Yams,

I was ready to put the reigns on my fandom of KG if I saw anything solid or compelling in that anti-KG vid...not much worthy in there. Felt kind of sorry for the dorkus who put it together, actually. KG plays "Evil Ted" style of ball, so I can't complain about that.

Favorite part of the "Larry can't act or speak" part of the commercial? When he accentuates the MOST instead of the AL at the end.

"Well, alMOST."

That's why there's a Birdmas - because I still love him despite an inability to correctly say a two-syllable word for money.

I'm sure I speak for most pickup ballers when I say that a hard screen or 2 is part and parcel with the game!

When you got someone with anti-game on the other team and he hits a prayer in your face, isn't it nice to put him on his ass in a legal way?

I rest my case.

Could I ask a question? Yes. Yes I can. If we can clone people, and there are so many terrible basketball teams out there, why haven't they pooled their cash to clone an army of Larry Birds? He could coach and play. I'd say Jordan, but the world would explode if his talent was even doubled. I wish the Clippers had some kind of great player and coach. Instead they just have the epitomy of Basketbawful.

Mike "Not" Dun ruining my squad like every other coach except Jack Ramsey.

As for the KG video, those two screens were rough stuff, but the occasional elbow under the basket and the other slappy stuff struck me as fairly ordinary. And Pachulia totally flopped. I'm sure you could find similar clips for just about every player in the NBA. Yeah, KG does deserve to get T'ed up more than he actually does, but nothing I've seen has turned me against him. Then again, if he played for a team other than the Celtics I might feel differently.

p.s. alMOST. haHA!

just have to mention Mario West... In his awesome 12 second Mario he mada a steal and then a buzzer beating three pointer...

Talk about production!

It took me years to realize that Larry Bird was so ugly. I never really noticed until one day i took a good look at him. He is rather unpleasant looking.

Darius Miles with the 2 trillion today. And they beat the Mavs by 20. Im going to have to say that it was his key contribution to the team. A proven winner like Darius Miles is guaranteed to boost morale.

And the towel is good~! Does anyone else whether there would have been a take where he missed with the towel? I thought not. He seemed to piff it quite hard what did that towel ever do to him? i'd be more annoyed with the shitty extras sitting around looking bored in their "authenic" gear: Insert comment about throwing in the towel here.

P.S. The Knicks are screwed.
